A high-capacity water purification system was installed at a large company in Texas, USA. From the initial startup, the machine has been operating with minimal issues. The reverse osmosis technology effectively removes salts and other contaminants from non-potable water sources using a high-pressure pump. This pump is designed to overcome the osmotic pressure of a natural process called 'osmosis'. Naturally, osmosis carries salt through a semi-porous membrane from a low-salt concentration area to a high-salt concentration area, aiming to equalize the salt concentration on both sides. To reverse this natural process and obtain purified water, reverse osmosis uses a high-pressure pump to direct osmosis in the opposite direction. The pump applies high pressure to the highly concentrated salt side of the membrane, aggressively pushing saltwater and other contaminants through the membrane, allowing only water molecules to pass. The salt and other contaminants are trapped and drained on the concentrate side, while purified water exits and is ready for collection on the permeate side.
