Part of Dormer's "Shark Line" series of taps, the E412 metric coarse machine tap is a yellow shark tap and the yellow ring on the shank indicates the tap is designed specifically for deep hole tapping of low alloy steels, like leaded steel, magnetic soft & structural steel. The titanium aluminium nitride coating improves performance when machining "sticky" materials by preventing the material from building up on the cutting edge of the tool, whilst the premium powder metal High Speed cobalt used in manufacture further aids performance and extends tool life. The E412 is manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization. With a spiral flute design for threading blind holes, the E412 comes in a large range of metric coarse sizes from M3 to M30.
